What is Teletherapy?

Teletherapy is providing therapy through a live video connection. You receive the same treatment as you would in person; it’s just done through a computer. If you’ve ever used Skype on your computer or FaceTime on your iPhone, you’ve used the same type of technology.

What types of therapy can be provided using teletherapy?

All types of therapy – as long as you are in a private room where others cannot hear your conversation.

Can I use make both regular in-person appointments alongside online appointments?

YES, for an additional fee. Cindy can come to your home, if you live within a 20 minute radius of her office.

Can I trusting an online therapist?

Trust is something that evolves. Whether you’re learning to trust a friend or an intimate partner, it doesn’t happen overnight. In the same way, the act of trusting a mental health professional isn’t instantaneous. It is a process. When you’re talking to an online therapist in the privacy of a place where you feel safe, it can make a world of difference. Teletherapy can be advantageous – you’re on your turf talking to somebody where you feel like you can be yourself. That’s something unique about online counseling.

Is teletherapy or online counseling covered by insurance?

During COVID-19 most insurance is covering teletherapy. It remains to be seen what insurance companies will do after the crisis has passed.
